Flemington Renovation

A compact, renovated Victorian weatherboard cottage with flexible, efficient planning creates space for entertaining. A triple slider window connects the living room to an outdoor living space, protected by a large covered pergola.

The back garden, originally terraced on three levels, is now divided into two distinct areas, planned around a new studio. Clad economically in weatherboards to match the existing house, the studio is a flexible space that can be used as a study or guest bedroom. Borrowed views to surrounding trees through the frameless corner window ensure a sense of spaciousness.

The rear bathroom and kitchen were relocated to the centre of the house near two existing bedrooms. A new bright kitchen faces the back yard and indoor/outdoor living spaces enabling a social atmosphere. The existing living room window was retained in the new bathroom, as were the existing three meter ceilings which result in a bright and spacious feel.
